Though Grand Seiko certainly churns out its fair share of limited and special editions, so many of them are genuinely beautiful watches that in this particular case, they may as well keep 'em coming.
The latest offering from the Japanese company, the SBGR321, celebrates the brand's 60th anniversary. Housed in a 40mm stainless steel case, it features a brilliant blue dial evidently inspired by the "early morning sun that beams over Mt. Iwate outside the Shizukuishi Studio." A blue titanium oscillating weight seen from the sapphire case back matches the dial, while a red ring within the crystal "mirrors the glow of the sun at dawn as it floods into the windows of the watchmakers’ studio." Dope!
Housed within the Grand Seiko Heritage Collection, the SBGR321 is 13mm thick and features the brand's cal. 9S65, an automatic movement with optional manual winding, 72 hours of power reserve, hacking, date function and an accuracy of +5 to -3 seconds per day.
The new SBGR321 will be available in October at a price of $5,200.
