Watch customizer MAD Paris has released its latest reworked Rolex, this time taking on the Datejust 41 by giving it a matte black body and dark blue dial.
Matte black has become the signature signifier for identifying a MAD Paris-customized timepiece, having appeared on other Rolex watches such as the Milgauss and Datejust 36. Here, the imprint covers the entire body — strap, oyster-fluted bezel, case and all — in the stormy shade of black, and contrasts this with a blue dial.
The dial is rich and deep in color, but is contrasted once more with black jewels that have been put in place of standard hour indicators. The date viewer is finished in black with white lettering, while more white lettering can be found on the face, highlighting the dual branding.
Inside the watch, you’ll find Rolex’s in-house-made new-generation movement caliber 3235, which is one of the Swiss brand’s most precise movements to date.
