Another record-setting auction has seen a platinum Rolex Daytona sell for over $3 million.
Sotheby’s Hong Kong estimated that the platinum automatic lapis lazuli dial Rolex Cosmograph Daytona would sell for between $4 million and $8 million HKD ($516,000-$1,032,000).
The eventual selling price was $25.37 million HKD ($3.27 million) including fees, making it the most expensive automatic Daytona ever sold.

The platinum watch comes with a Zenith movement and features a lapis lazuli hardstone dial.
The 40mm case encloses a 4030 automatic movement and comes with 31 jewels.
It is estimated that the watch was manufactured in 1999.
