Early in the bidding, Paul Boutros in New York shouted out a bid of $2,000,000 in a manner reminiscent of Tiffany Toh's exclamation of "Ten million dollars, sir!" at the sale of Paul Newman's Paul Neman Daytona, also in New York. There were 24 bids in all, with Livia Russo presenting the winning bid from Geneva via a phone bidder. That final bid came in less than two minutes after bidding opened at $800,000, with the hammer falling shortly after.
