At just 32-years old, Zac Efron has one of the finest watch collections we've seen. The Baywatch and High School Musical actor owns a Rolex Daytona, a TAG Heuer Aquaracer, a Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control and a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona.
But for us, the finest timepiece in Efron's collection is his Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust, which, taking into account how often he has worn it, is likely his favourite.
The 41mm two-tone yellow gold and stainless steel Datejust comes with a black dial and a timeless jubilee bracelet, making for an understated, yet supremely impressive creation. What's more, it's a timepiece that has caught the attention of some of the most famous watch heads in history, from Tom Cruise and Drake to Rihanna and Jay-Z.

The first self-winding wristwatch fitted with a date window, the Datejust launched in 1945 to celebrate Rolex's 40th anniversary. The quick-changing date was a milestone in the development of watches and the Datejust has remained a mainstay in Rolex's extensive catalogue ever since.
While there have been slight updates to the 1945 design (the Rolex Datejust OysterQuartz dropped in 1977 and featured a quartz movement and the 1957 Datejust came with a Calibre 1065), not much about the dress watch has changed, especially when it comes to the way it looks.
Even when a demand for larger watches saw the original design grow from 36mm to 42mm, it kept the same instantly recognisable appearance – a round face with three hands and magnified date – and Efron's own 41mm watch exudes the timeless appeal that has kept the Datejust ticking for over 70 years.
And while 2020 has seen a limited release of new Rolex timepieces (the Swiss brand has only dropped an update on the storied Submariner over the past ten months), a Zac Efron-approved Datejust will forever be a purchase worth making.
