Garmin's MARQ series smartwatches aren't for the faint of wrist or wallet — with 46mm case sizes and prices ranging from $1,600 to $2,100, these are serious tools meant for serious (and large-wristed) athletes. The latest update to the range is poised to make these tough-guy watches even more useful for those who closely track their performance metrics during workouts, hikes, runs, flights, parachute jumps, or whatever else gets their heart rate going.
The MARQ Performance Edition watches now add heart rate monitor and tempe sensor bundle options to the MARQ Athlete and MARQ Adventurer and silicone rubber straps to the MARQ Driver and MARQ Aviator. (The tempe sensor tracks ambient temperature and connects wirelessly to the watch.) The Athlete now also comes bundled with the new HRM Pro chest strap, allowing the user to track biometrics during workouts.
The MARQ collection spans four watches: The MARQ Athlete Performance Edition ($1,700) with HRM Pro bundle tracks recovery time and features a VO2 max scale on its bezel; the MARQ Adventurer Performance Edition ($1,600) features a compass bezel and bundled tempe sensor; the MARQ Driver Performance Edition ($2,100) is preloaded with 250 racetracks from around the world and shows lap splits, track time, average speed and more; and the MARQ Aviator Performance Edition ($1,600), designed for pilots, features a GMT bezel and two additional time zones.
The new Garmin MARQ Performance Edition watches are available now through Garmin's website.
