Casey William Kelley, 42, of Wewahitchka, was arrested by Walton County sheriff’s deputies Wednesday after a Miramar Beach jeweler reported that he had used a fake cashier’s check for $61,521 in an attempt to purchase three Rolex watches the previous day.

During the investigation, deputies learned that Kelley had bought a Porsche 911 Turbo on Monday from a dealership in Destin. The cashier’s check for that purchase — $139,203.05 — also turned out to be fraudulent, the sheriff’s report said.

Kelley reportedly admitted to investigators that he had printed out the cashier’s checks from his home computer.

He faces charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle and “uttering” (using or passing) a false banknote. The Link Lonk
