Extending its long line of trusty dive watches, Japan’s largest watchmaker Seiko has now crafted a PADI special edition of its famed “Monster” model, a nickname derived from its robust make.
Spec details regarding this new Prospex reference SRPE27 remain scarce at this point, but the company has dropped a first look at the fresh addition to the brand’s family of PADI editions, featuring various departures in design from its predecessors. Instead of employing a classic Pepsi color scheme, the chunky monoblock bezel of this Monster features a full blue PVD coating, with a red accent only on the triangular bezel marker normally sitting at 12 o’clock. The red extends onto the minute and second hands, casting a strong contrast against the now blacked-out dial. PADI’s logo is then printed above the 6 o’clock position, along with the watch’s other features such as an automatic movement and a 200m water resistance. Rounding out the timepiece is a stainless steel bracelet perfect for its intended usage in the sea.
There’s currently no pricing or release information from Seiko yet.
Elsewhere in watches, Audemars Piguet has launched bold new color options for its Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph.
