The annual preseason test is traditionally run in early January but will be moved next season to allow IMSA teams to remain at the track the following week.
NASCAR is next in line to utilize Daytona International Speedway’s 3.56-mile road course, but the sports cars will be back soon enough.
On Friday, the Speedway announced the 59th Rolex 24 will take place Jan. 30-31, 2021, while the "Roar Before the 24" has been shifted to Jan. 22-24. The annual preseason test is traditionally run in early January, but will be moved next season to allow IMSA teams to remain at the track the following week.
"Following the popular Roar schedule, IMSA teams are set to remain at the track through the Rolex 24 Weekend," the Speedway said in a statement. "They are scheduled to participate in fan-focused events celebrating the start of the IMSA season at ONE DAYTONA, the lifestyle and entertainment destination located directly across International Speedway Blvd. from Daytona International Speedway."
The annual BMW Endurance Challenge will take place Jan. 29.

The Rolex 24 was first held as a three-hour event in 1962, then known as the Daytona Continental. While IMSA usually comes to Daytona just once a year, the series did return earlier this month to run the IMSA Weathertech 240 — a one-off event used to restart its coronavirus-delayed season.
Tickets for the 2021 Rolex 24 Weekend go on sale Sept. 8, while guests from 2020 will receive their renewal information in early August. Any guest with a multi-day ticket to the Rolex 24 will have access to the Roar test sessions.
